The Kee Kitayama Research Foundation was established in 1993 to conduct research and educational programs for California’s cut flower and potted plant industry. The Foundation is a 501 c 3 non profit corporation formed to enable the industry to accomplish as a group what individual firms cannot do alone. The Foundation was named in honor of Kee Kitayama, a founder of the California Cut Flower Commission.

Mission Statement

To enhance the market position of the California floriculture industry by conducting and promoting research and to provide education to the floriculture industry.

Foundation Goals

1. Enhance the market position of California floriculture growers

2. Develop and execute grower-directed research and education programs

3. Support grower relations efforts to achieve grower involvement on behalf of California floriculture

4. Provide data supporting public relations efforts on behalf of the California floriculture industry. Through the California Ornamental Research Federation, the Kee Kitayama Research Foundation conducts educational programs.
